This project was a little bit different to usual; now, we say that a lot, but that’s because every single job IS different, and people’s preferences and priorities are changing every day. But why was this unique to projects we have worked on previously? Well, it was our first-ever park home heat pump installation!! And we hope it is a sign of the changing times. It also highlights that there are very few restrictions when it comes to switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy. This job was definitely an exciting milestone for both us and the future of eco-living.
Dona contacted us with a requirement to change from her LPG (liquid petroleum gas) system to something more environmentally friendly. She had done some of her own research – which makes us very happy – and had seen that an air source heat pump can be fitted at a park home site. What we were most impressed about is that so many people assume it is not an option so rule it out almost immediately. This is purely down to a lack of available knowledge, and it is our job to change that; we want to shout about this topic as much as possible. Dona, however, was so passionate about making the important switch that she looked into the options available and voile – she discovered that anything is possible, even in a park home!
After looking at several different options, Dona and ourselves opted for a NIBE air source heat pump with a 160-litre cylinder. The team also replaced four of the existing radiators with slightly larger ones to meet the heat loss of those rooms, as well as three fan radiators to provide heating and cooling when required. Alongside the heat pump installation, we completed refit works for Dona’s bathroom and ensuite and even built a shed to house the plant room equipment. Each project and installation that we complete is bespoke, and we love finding a design that will work perfectly each time. Dona knew roughly what she wanted to achieve, and we worked closely with her to make it a reality.
Our first park home heat pump installation…done! Here’s to many more to come.
Testimonial:
Eco Installers designed a heat pump system for my park home to deliver hot water, heating and cooling via fan radiators, all in a tight space – they worked patiently and without putting pressure on me to come up with the best solution for a very specific environment. Chris is exceptional in dealing with follow-up issues and queries. They are always on hand to fine-tune until things are right.
