Project details:
Sarah and Ian had renovated their existing home when they came across a section of land for sale in Soham, Cambridgeshire. Excited by the idea of designing and building their dream home, the family snapped up the opportunity and the planning began.
The family wanted to explore renewable heating options for their new-build project and attended the Excel Homebuilding and Renovation Show to find out more. After viewing a variety of demonstrations, Sarah and Ian were keen to find a local renewable heating company to see if an air source heat pump would be suitable for their home.
Sarah and Ian’s architect, Tony Walton recommended Eco Installer, along with a few of their friends who had used us for plumbing and heating installations. Following a meeting in our Ely office, Roly carried out heat loss calculations and was pleased to confirm a 16kW NIBE air source heat pump would be able to meet the heating and hot water demands for the family.
Roly produced a design for the heat pump installation, underfloor heating and high spec bathrooms/en-suites. Sarah and Ian were pleased with the information received and after visiting one of our existing customer properties and hearing how delighted he was with his heating system; they placed their order with us.
Our team worked closely with the architect and other contractors onsite to ensure the project ran smoothly. We installed the Emmeti Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor of the property and fitted Heatmiser controls. The NIBE air source heat pump was situated neatly to the side of the house and the cylinder, underfloor heating manifolds, volumiser and circulation pump was fitted in an area underneath the stairs.
Sarah, Ian and their two daughters have lived in their dream house for just under a year and are enjoying their renewable heating system. They are delighted to be fossil fuel free and are now looking at the possibility of installing solar PV panels to lower their energy bills even further.
Not only are they proud to have green credentials, but Sarah and Ian also receive a payment of £410 four times a year and will continue to do so for the lifetime of the renewable heat incentive (RHI) which is 7 years. That’s an impressive £11,480.00!
It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Sarah and Ian on this project and we look forward to servicing their NIBE heat pump yearly.
