Case Study:
Chris and Pippa first contacted us when it became apparent that they needed to replace their old gas boiler. Given the cost efficiencies and reduction in environmental impact associated with greener energy options, they decided that they would take the opportunity to explore eco-friendly heating systems and came to Eco Installer for some advice on which type of system may be suitable for them and how to proceed with installation.
After assessing the property and the previous gas system, we were able to talk through not just the system options available to them, but also the funding possibilities which are offered as part of the UK government’s incentivisation to get households to move across to renewable energy sources.
As part of the system replacement, we also fitted Chris and Pippa with an entirely new underfloor heating system which works seamlessly with the Mitsubishi New Generation 14kW Heat Pump and 250L Pre Plumbed Cylinder we recommended to them. In addition to this, we fitted an on-roof 3.9kW Solar PV using JA Solar Panels which draw renewable energy directly from sunlight and act as a further step towards reducing the family’s utility bills.
Chris and Pippa then retrospectively applied for the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) to support with the costs of the heat pump installation and are now in the process of applying for the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) which allows them to claim money off their bills in exchange for the energy that they give back to the electricity grid from their new solar panels.
