Simon, his wife Rachel and their children lived in a beautiful windmill in Cambridgeshire when the opportunity arose to purchase land, just 3 miles away, with the potential of designing and building their dream home.
Simon and Rachel snapped up the opportunity and received planning permission for two houses to replace the existing large bungalow. With a background in construction and project management, Simon and Rachel both had a great understanding of renewable energy and the environmental benefits of having an eco-friendly system installed and the importance of making a move away from fossil fuels.
Throughout both of their careers, Simon and Rachel had come across Mitsubishi heat pumps on many occasions. With Mitsubishi’s world -renowned brand and great track record for reliability, they were both keen to have a Mitsubishi air source heat pump (ASHP) installed to provide the heating and hot water for their dream family home.
After being let down three times by other heating engineers, Simon was thrilled to find Eco Installer on the internet. After a phone call to the office, Roly arranged to meet Simon on site the very next day and was able to confirm a 11.2kW Mitsubishi ASHP with underfloor heating would be the most suitable option for their new-build project. Their Mitsubishi dreams could finally come true!
With a tight schedule, we managed to change our engineer’s diary around to work with the other contractors working on site. Our enthusiastic engineers Jack and Keir laid underfloor heating throughout the ground floor. The heat pump was installed unobtrusively to the side of the house and the cylinder, underfloor heating manifolds and controls were installed in a plant room just off the utility room. Once the installation was complete, Paul from KP Insulation expertly insulated all the pipe work.
Simon, Rachel and their children have now moved into their stunning home. Simon has proudly carried out a lot of the works himself and the attention to detail is clearly visible. The family are delighted to be fossil fuel free, and making their mark on the world in that way, and they look forward to the added bonus of the Governments Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for the uptake of renewable heating.
This is our first installation as a Mitsubishi approved EcoDan Installer, and we look forward to our up and coming Mitsubishi installations.
