Yiangos had just bought his new family home and was keen to renovate as much of the property as possible before moving in. Yiangos had carried out lots of research on different heating options available and was eager to see if an air source heat pump could replace the existing gas boiler, reducing his reliance on fossil fuels. Along with replacing the heating system, Yiangos was interested in changing the existing radiators for underfloor heating on both the ground and first floor.
Shane visited the property and carried out heat loss calculations which concluded a 5kW Mitsubishi heat pump along with a 170ltr heat pump cylinder would be suitable to meet the heating and hot water requirements for the family home. Shane was pleased to confirm a RetroTherm LITE underfloor heating system would be suitable for both ground and first floor, meaning the existing radiators could be removed, giving more space for the families’ furniture.
The RetroTherm LITE system consists of low profile panels which are super-responsive and provide excellent heat outputs whilst keeping floor height build up to a minimum, a perfect solution for both new and existing build.
Along with the heating and underfloor heating installation, we also removed an internal wall, which opened up the dining and living room in to one, providing more space for the family to enjoy.
Yiangos has now moved in to his family home and is enjoying the warmth on his feet of the underfloor heating in the mornings, and as the weather has changed, he has put his new air source heat pump to good use.

As we replaced a gas boiler with an air source heat pump, we were able to apply and redeem the boiler upgrade scheme voucher on behalf of Yiangos, meaning he received £5,000 towards his installation from the Government. And as he had a renewable installation, Yiangos benefited from an installation at 0% VAT!
