12kW Air Source Heat Pump, 2.5kW Solar PV Panel installation
Project details:
We were contacted by a local Architect who we have worked with several times before. His client, Mr Young was renovating his home in the centre of Cambridge. He was keen to reduce his expensive energy bills and was looking in to renewable heating options to reduce his dependence on gas.
Shane contacted Mr Young, introducing Eco Installer and a visit was arranged to carry out a site survey to discuss different options available. The property had a small garden area and a flat roof with empty space which the customer suggested could be used if required.
The best solution to meet our customer’s energy requirements was to install a NIBE Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) on the roof of the property along with Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Panels. With both technologies combined, the majority of Mr Young’s heating and hot water requirements will be looked after without the requirement of Gas.
This was our first Air Source Heat Pump installation on the roof of a property, and our team enjoyed the challenge! We hired a scissor lift to take all the parts up to the top of the roof (please see images to the right).
Mike, Tom and Sam completed the installation over 4 days. Mr Young is delighted with his new installation and is enjoying cheaper energy bills as well as earning from the Governments Renewable Heat Incentive for the Air Source Heat Pump, and the Feed-in Tariff for the Solar Panels.
