Project details:
Mo & Michael moved into their beautiful cottage a year ago after moving from Cheshire to be closer to their daughter and Grandchildren. With large garden areas and a stunning view of our very own Ely Cathedral, it is easy to see why they were attracted to their new family home.
Last October, disaster struck! Their oil boiler broke and a replacement was needed quickly to get them through the winter months. They opted for another oil boiler for a quick replacement but after a few months they decided to investigate renewable heating options as they liked the idea of future-proofing their home and reducing their energy bills at the same time. Mo & Michael’s previous home had a solar panel system installed so they already had a great understanding of the Government Incentives for the uptake of renewable heating, and of course, the benefits to the environment.
Enter Eco Installer! Mo and Michael were pleased to use a local company with many years of experience and gave us a call. Roly visited Mo & Michael and confirmed an air source heat pump (ASHP) would be better suited than a ground source heat pump (GSHP). Following the site survey, Mo & Michael received Roly’s proposal which calculated a 16kW air source heat pump was required to comfortably heat the family home.
Our engineer Jack and apprentice Keir disconnected the existing oil boiler and cylinder and installed a NIBE 16kW heat pump along with a NIBE 200 litre domestic hot water cylinder, NIBE 100 litre 4-port buffer vessel, NIBE SMO20 Controller and NIBE circulation pump.
What a great day for NIBE!
Mo & Michael are now fossil fuel free and have reduced their carbon footprint. Although they haven’t needed to use the heating yet, they are delighted with their renewable heating system and are now investigating a solar photovoltaic (PV) system to offset the electricity used by the heat pump.
Testimonial:
“We decided to use Eco Installer after asking for recommendations locally. We found everyone connected to the company to be professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. The whole installation took nearly 4 days but the workmen were particularly easy to have in our house, they always tidied up after the day’s work. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Eco Installer.” Mr & Mrs Collins
