Case Study:
Stephen’s old oil boiler was nearing its end of life, and he was interested in replacing the fossil fuel system with a future-proof system, removing their dependency on gas. Stephen had solar photovoltaic (PV) panels installed by our team in 2020 and wanted to take full advantage of the power they were generating.
Our heat loss calculations confirmed a 6kW Mitsubishi EcoDan air source heat pump would meet the heat demand of the property, along with a 200ltr heat pump cylinder and only 1 radiator replacement.
Our team removed the existing gas boiler and carried out the heating installation during the winter and ensured Stephen and his family were without heating for only a very short period of time. We installed the cylinder and accessories in the customer’s utility room, and their heat pump was installed neatly in their back garden.
Stephen was pleased to take advantage of the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) and received £5,000 towards his installation, plus his installation was at 0% VAT.
Stephen is delighted to say goodbye to his old gas boiler and looks forward to testing out his new heat pump and solar PV set-up.
Testimonial:
“The system is great. It is good to be able to remotely control it and do things like trigger the water heating when the solar panels are generating electricity. It is a bit tricky to compare on a monthly basis due to fluctuations in the temperature, but in general it is either lower cost or equal to the original boiler. We have only had it fitted since November, so that was the most expensive time. Looking forward to a nice cheap summer!” Stephen
