Neil gave us a call with a requirement to replace his existing gas systems, he already had done a fair amount of home work on air source heat pumps and the available government incentives and was keen to reduce his carbon footprint. Neil had read commentaries on different heating systems and asked friends, who had an air-source heat pump, if their system worked effectively and was pleased to see if a heat pump would be suitable for his family home in Cambridgeshire.
Following an updated energy performance certificate and a heat-loss survey we were pleased to confirm a 12kW NIBE air source heat pump would suitably meet the heating and hot water demands and would be an ideal solution to replace the current fossil-fuel system.
With a plan in place, our team stripped out the existing heating system and three of the old radiators before installing the stylish heat pump neatly outside the front of the house. Our engineers installed the cylinder, buffer, etc. aptly in a bedroom, ready to be boxed once all the pipework has been insulated accordingly.
Neil and his family are delighted to be fossil-fuel free and have already put their heat pump to good use of the past few chilly weeks.
They have now applied for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and look forward to receiving their payments annually for the next seven years!
