Today marks the 25th anniversary of Earth Day and is being celebrated in more than 192 countries.
The mission is to broaden, diversify and activate the environmental movement worldwide, through a combination of education, public policy, and consumer campaigns.
In the early 1960s scientists became aware of the effects of pollution on the environment causing great concern. In 1970 the first Earth Day event took place to promote a healthy environment and a peaceful, sustainable world. Following the great success, this is now celebrated annually.
There are many things you can do to help save the earth, these include planting a tree, reducing water use (turn tap of whilst brushing your teeth) and fix leaking taps and toilets. If you would like to make a bigger impact, you could consider an alternative to oil, LPG and gas.
You have probably heard the following statement from leading scientists and economist “three-quarters of known fossil fuel reserves must be kept in the ground if humanity is to avoid the worst effects of climate change”.
By installing solar panels on your roof to provide electricity, combined with an Air Source Heat Pump or a Biomass Boiler to provide heating and hot water you are able to step away from fossil fuels. Renewable technologies not only provide ‘Green’ energy but also a healthy return from Government incentives.
If you are considering a change in to Renewable Heating please give our team in Sutton, Ely a call on 01353 669000 or drop us a line info@ecoinstaller. Our engineers are on hand to answer all your questions.
